After his success with the Kerry County Eagles, Shoresy has become a rising star in the hockey world. The series will follow the titular character as he continues his sports journey and quest for greatness on the professional stage.

Why Didn’t A Different Letterkenny Character Get A Spinoff?

Letterkenny is full of brilliantly written characters, so it’s a little surprising for the show’s first spinoff to focus on somebody with as little presence in the show as Shoresy. While some may feel that Tanis, Joint Boy, or even Squirrely Dan are more deserving of their own series, Shoresy is actually an excellent choice for expanding the franchise.

Aside from his love of trash talk and frequent problems with IBS, viewers don’t know anything about Shoresy. This leaves the show plenty of avenues to explore when it comes to Shoresy’s relationships and motivations.

How Hockey-Centric Will Shoresy’s Spinoff Be?

While Letterkenny is already awash with hockey slang, storylines, and culture, it seems likely that Shoresy will be taking this to a whole new level. Given the premise of the show, viewers should be prepared to log plenty of ice time.

However, the atmosphere surrounding the sport could be vastly different. The professionals playing on the Sudbury team will likely take the game much more seriously than their Senior-A counterparts. It’s fair to wonder if Shoresy’s will end up making more friends or enemies on this new adventure.

Who Will Join Shoresy?

Audiences can certainly expect Shoresy’s new team in Sudbury to be filled with hilarious over-the-top characters like the ones Letterkenny has managed to craft so perfectly. Information about these new faces is held close to the chest, but casting announcements give a glimpse of what to expect.

Tasya Teles from The CW’s The 100 has top billing as a character named Nat, likely Shoresy’s main romantic interest for the show. Some other characters’ names and the actors portraying them have been revealed as well, but there’s been nothing concrete about what to expect when they’re properly introduced to audiences.

Will Other Familiar Characters Appear In Shoresy’s Spinoff?

To this point, it seems that Shoresy will be the only Letterkenny resident making the permanent jump to Sudbury. However, fans should definitely not rule out some familiar faces making an appearance.

Max Bouffard, who briefly appeared in Letterkenny as JJ Frankie JJ, will reprise his role for the spinoff and continue his character’s ongoing feud with Shoresy. Rumors have also swirled aggressively that Kim Cloutier’s Anik will make an appearance in the show at some point.

What Adversity Will Shoresy Face?

Shoresy’s last storyline on Letterkenny focused on his unrelenting drive and dedication to finding success on the ice. Shoresy’s work ethic is otherworldly. He’s definitely one of the strongest characters in the series, but he’s an absolute loose cannon.

With Shoresy’s history of instability, it’s clear that the Sudbury team is in a desperate situation if they’re calling upon his services. It looks like the series is shaping up to be a Bad News Bears type of story with Shoresy filling the “Buttermaker” role of unexpected hero.

Will They Finally Show Shoresy’s Face?

To this point, Shoresy’s face has always remained hidden to minimize confusion with Jared Keeso’s dual casting. Elegantly achieved with the use of dark visors, bathroom stalls, and the character’s habit of never looking at the people he’s speaking with. It’s one of Letterkenny’s best running jokes.

Fans finally got their first glimpse of the character when the first teaser trailer for Shoresy was released. Unlike Wayne, Jared Keeso’s portrayal of Shoresy sees him donning a full beard, slicked back greasy hair, and missing his right incisor. Given that he doesn’t look drastically different from his Letterkenny counterpart, expect Keeso to employ his gift for physical comedy to give Shoresy an identity all his own.

Will Shoresy’s Character Evolve?

Shoresy has been a one-dimensional character who shows up to fart, insult, and otherwise antagonize those who find themselves unfortunate enough to be in his orbit. So will his solo outing give audiences more of the same, or explore a new side of #69?

The answer is undoubtedly the latter. While Letterkenny is most known for its quick-witted and sometimes low-brow humor, its relatable characters and situations are a core part of its DNA. Since the production team behind Shoresy is largely the same, audiences can look forward to seeing Shoresy in a very different light.

Will Shoresy’s Spinoff Be Similar To Letterkenny?

By all indications, the answer to this question is a definitive yes. In addition to Jared Keeso playing the show’s main character, Shoresy will also have Letterkenny director Jacob Tierney at the helm for every episode.

With Keeso and Tierney’s extensive involvement, fans should have every expectation that Shoresy will deliver exactly what they’re are looking for. The dynamic duo has proven that they can easily create comedic gold, and seem confident this new venture will be another major success.

While it’s great to see incredible characters get their time in the spotlight with a spinoff, it’s often disappointing to see them depart from the original cast. Fortunately, Shoresy and Letterkenny are in a very unique spot.

With Jared Keeso locked into the starring roles of both shows, it would be easy for Shoresy will make his way back to Letterkenny, Ontario at some point. Without any scheduling conflicts or monetary issues to worry about, fans only have to hope that the narrative directions of the two shows make a reunion possible.
